VILANDCO and the National Institute of Architecture co-organized the workshop “Creating a green and smart living environment”

Vietnam Green Building Week is a yearly celebration that aims to promote the construction of green buildings and energy efficiency while working toward attainable goals at  Vietnam’s COP 26 commitments.

The National Institute of Architecture and Vilandco organized the Workshop “Creating a green and smart living environment” with a duration of 1 day on October 11, 2022, as part of the Week of 2022 in order to discuss, exchange, and provide information and experiences for architects and construction investors.

The workshop’s program content and practical utility for invited guests were both carefully planned. A large number of state management agencies, scientists, professional associations, businesses, and other stakeholders in the process of investing in energy-efficiency and green buildings will be present at both the morning program frame and the afternoon program frame, which will be held at the National Institute of Architecture and the Capital Place Building (29 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi).
Mr. Nguyen Cong Thinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology, and Environment presented a picture of the issues surrounding the development of energy-efficiency and environmentally friendly buildings at the workshop.

In recent years, the Ministry of Construction and the National Institute of Architecture Experts have actively proposed and implemented numerous solutions to ensure that people’s lives are more environmentally friendly. This was confirmed by Mr. Vu Dinh Thanh, Deputy Director of the National Institute of Architecture. In this regard, the Ministry of Construction has released five legal documents to establish a legal pathway for businesses and individuals to grow in this industry.

At the Workshop, the topic of how to create a greener, smarter living environment for people was presented by the speakers in many different aspects from practice. Ms. Nguyen Thuy Dung – Department of Training and International Cooperation, National Institute of Architecture shared the results achieved by some countries in the region, thereby setting lessons for Vietnam.

Especially, in the role of consulting unit for investors to obtain green building certification, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien – Director of Dat Viet Construction and Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company (VILANDCO) shared about the issues related to health, comfort, labor efficiency, etc.

The seminar continued that day in the mid afternoon at the Capital Place building in Hanoi.
Both the Capital Place project’s green certification through the LEED assessment system and the Saint-Gobain office project’s green certification through the LOTUS Small Interior evaluation system were presented by the VILANDCO company. The Saint-Gobain office is located on the building’s 17th floor and is LOTUS SI Gold certified. Capital Place is the first Grade A office building to be certified LEED BD+C Gold.
Mr. Tran Huu Viet, a representative of Saint-Gobain Company, provided information on the use of lightweight and environmentally friendly materials in current Vietnamese construction.
The participants in this seminar paid close attention to the seminar’s content, which sparked a lively discussion of the topics brought up by the speakers.

With the support of Saint-Gobain Office and Building Management Board, the Organizing Committee led the delegation to visit Sain-Gobain Office Area with many green features, comfort, convenience for users, and M&E system of the Capital Place building. Thereby, the guests had a more practical and deeper understanding of the current types of assessment systems and Green Buildings.

The visit left many deep impressions and received a response from a large number of participants. Vilandco hopes to be accompanied more in the journey of green building development in Vietnam and towards the goal of realizing Vietnam’s commitment at COP 26.
