VILANDCO continues to accompany large-scale green building projects as the Headquarters of the Provincial Party Committee, the National Assembly Delegation and People’s Council, and the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa Province has officially achieved the EDGE Advanced certification. This is the first provincial-level government office building in Vietnam to receive a green building certification under the EDGE system, marking a new milestone in the development of sustainable administrative buildings in Vietnam.
The project is being developed in the coastal area of Nha Trang, with the vision of becoming a new-generation administrative center — open, accessible, and well-connected to citizens and the community. Upon completion, the project is expected to become a landmark of the city, aligning with the development orientation of Khanh Hoa Province under Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the construction and development of Khanh Hoa Province through 2030, with a vision toward 2045.
More than just a symbolic milestone for the green transformation of public buildings, the project has also achieved outstanding performance indicators under the EDGE Advanced standard:
- 45% energy savings
- 43% water savings
- 34% reduction in embodied carbon emissions in construction materials
To achieve EDGE Advanced certification, the project integrated a wide range of solutions to optimize resource efficiency and enhance building performance, including:
- Improving energy efficiency through optimized building envelope design and high-performance MEP systems
- Integrating rooftop solar power systems to increase the use of renewable energy
- Reducing water consumption through water-efficient sanitary fixtures
- Maximizing natural daylight and optimizing ventilation for working spaces
- Applying solutions that minimize environmental impact and improve long-term operational efficiency
- Promoting the development of an open, user-friendly administrative space that fosters stronger community connection
In this project, VILANDCO served as the green building consultant, accompanying the project owner throughout the process of developing the EDGE certification strategy, reviewing design solutions, and completing the assessment documentation in accordance with the certification system’s requirements.
The project’s achievement of EDGE Advanced certification is not only a story of energy and resource efficiency, but also reflects the province’s long-term investment vision toward developing high-performance public buildings that reduce environmental impact while enhancing the quality of working spaces for government staff and citizens alike.
