Tien Son Primary School – An Educational Facility Aiming for Sustainable Operations

Tien Son Primary School in Bac Giang is an educational project with a total floor area of 1,000 m², developed through the collaboration between the CapitaLand Hope Foundation, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, and construction partners. Implemented and completed in 2024, the project targets LOTUS Small Building – Certified certification, reflecting efforts to integrate green building standards into the local learning environment.

The building is located within the campus of Tien Son Primary School (Thuong Lat Hamlet, Tien Son Commune, Viet Yen Town, Bac Giang Province). It comprises a two-storey classroom block with six classrooms and four restroom areas, serving more than 200 students. The project was assessed under the LOTUS Small Buildings V1 rating system, with key highlights in sustainable design solutions closely connected to the local context: exposed brick façades inspired by the traditional Tho Ha craft village, and a roof form evoking bamboo screens and the image of an open book—together creating an inspiring, approachable, and environmentally friendly learning space.
