63 Ly Thai To Building – Toward a Green Office in the Heart of Hanoi

As one of Hanoi’s landmark Grade A office buildings, 63 Ly Thai To Building is home to the headquarters and offices of numerous international organizations, including the World Bank and IFC. Achieving EDGE Certified recognizes not only the Project Owner’s commitment to improving the building’s operational performance through renovation and optimization, but also demonstrates that existing buildings can successfully meet internationally recognized green building standards when upgraded through well-planned and sustainable strategies.

Following a comprehensive assessment and the implementation of optimized green building strategies, the project achieved impressive performance under the EDGE Certification framework:

  • 37.24% reduction in energy consumption compared with the reference building.
  • 43.88% reduction in water consumption, contributing to more efficient use of water resources.
  • 100% reduction in embodied carbon in materials through the strategic reuse of existing building components.
  • Approximately 305.5 tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided annually, contributing to climate change mitigation while improving the building’s operational performance.
