LOTUS Certification

LOTUS is the first green building criteria system developed specifically for the construction market in Vietnam, on a voluntary basis, developed by the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC) – a non-profit project of the Green Cities Fund (California, USA). In Vietnam, VGBC has established the Vietnam Green Building Social Enterprise Company Limited to carry out LOTUS project assessment and certification activities and related training programs.

LOTUS Certification Classification

LOTUS has assessment tools applicable to different groups of buildings. Specifically:

LOTUS NC v3 applies to new construction or large-scale renovation projects with a gross floor area (GFA) of 2,500 m2 or more
LOTUS BIO applies to existing buildings
LOTUS Homes applies to single-family homes
LOTUS SB applies to non-residential projects with a GFA of less than 2,500 m2
LOTUS Interiors applies to interior finishing projects
LOTUS Small Interiors applies to interior finishing projects with a GFA of less than 1,000 m2

LOTUS Standard Score

LOTUS awards certification to construction projects that meet quality requirements. The LOTUS standard rating scale for new construction and major renovations is as follows:

– 40 – 54 points: Certified

– 55 – 64 points: Silver

– 65 – 74 points: Gold

– 75 points or more: Platinum
