Viet Yen Party Committee Headquarters – A Model of Sustainable Public Administration Architecture
Amid Vietnam’s push for green transition and optimization of public investment, the headquarters of the Viet Yen Party Committee Headquarters has made a significant mark by officially achieving the EDGE green building certification, awarded by international organization SGS in April 2025.
As the first district-level administrative building in Bac Giang to meet international standards, this project demonstrates the strong commitment of local authorities to sustainable development and serves as a leading model for the region.
Impressive Achievements of the Viet Yen Party Committee Headquarters
Certified under the rigorous EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) standards, the Viet Yen Party Committee Headquarters has achieved outstanding results:
- 21% energy savings, reducing operational costs — a key factor in managing public budgets.
- 27% water savings, enabled by high-efficiency sanitary fixtures.
- 43% reduction in embodied carbon in construction materials, equivalent to cutting approximately 42.49 tons of CO₂ emissions per year, contributing to Vietnam’s national goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.
To reach these impressive figures, the building applied a series of integrated green solutions, including:
- Optimized architectural and structural design to maximize natural lighting and ventilation.
- LED lighting systems and energy-efficient electrical equipment.
- Modern water-saving sanitary fixtures.
- Eco-friendly, low-carbon, and recyclable building materials.
These solutions not only enhance resource efficiency but also create a modern, comfortable, and high-quality working environment for government officials and staff in Viet Yen District.
