Makita Vietnam Co., Ltd. — a subsidiary of Makita Corporation (Japan), one of the world’s leading power tool brands — has been provisionally certified with the LOTUS New Construction V3 – Gold rating by the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC) for its project design phase at VSIP III, Binh Duong.
This milestone marks a significant step in Makita Vietnam’s journey toward sustainability, demonstrating the company’s commitment to minimizing environmental impact and promoting green building solutions.
With VILANDCO as the project’s green building consultant, the development has achieved several remarkable results:
- 66.9% reduction in total energy consumption compared to the baseline.
- 82.75% reduction in installed lighting power density, through optimized daylighting design and the use of high-efficiency lighting systems.
- 55% of operational water demand supplied by rainwater harvesting.
- 94.7% of roof and hardscape areas designed to minimize the urban heat island effect.
Key Green Solutions:
- High-performance building envelope: The façade is designed with a window-to-wall ratio below 15% on the west and east sides, combined with high solar-reflective coatings, effectively reducing heat gain and minimizing cooling energy demand.
- Smart air-conditioning system: The system achieves a CSPF efficiency 68.17% higher than the baseline, maintaining stable indoor temperatures for equipment and goods while significantly lowering electricity consumption.
- Sustainable materials: The project uses 100% non-fired materials for non-structural walls, reducing construction-related emissions, enhancing material durability, and minimizing environmental impact.
As the green building consultant, VILANDCO not only supported the project in achieving the LOTUS Gold Provisional Certification during the design phase but also continues to accompany Makita Vietnam throughout the construction and operation stages, aiming for the Final Certification upon project completion.
