On October 27, 2021, at the Northern Office of Saint-Gobain Vietnam – 17th floor, Capital Place Building, 29 Lieu Giai, the event “Press Conference for the Lotus Gold Green Office Certification – Saint-Gobain Vietnam Co., Ltd.” took place. This was also an opportunity for guests to tour a representative green office project showcasing the trend of greening interior spaces. The press conference was attended by representatives of Saint-Gobain Vietnam, Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC), Vilandco – green building consultancy, and media in the construction segment.
During the press conference, key participants delivered speeches sharing insights about the project and related issues. On behalf of Saint-Gobain, Mr. Dang Minh Phuong, Northern Office Executive Director, provided attendees with an understanding of the company’s high-quality products and outlined directions aimed at sustainable, environmentally-friendly development.
VGBC representatives affirmed their vision, congratulated the company on achieving the LOTUS SI Gold certification, and expressed their sincere thanks to Saint-Gobain.
The green building consultancy Vilandco presented the green criteria of the project, shared the advantages and challenges faced, and the benefits gained from achieving the LOTUS SI certification.
During the Q&A session, many unique and precise questions were raised by the guests. One notable question was whether investing in a green office significantly increases costs compared to the initial design. Mr. Dang Minh Phuong confirmed that, based on his own experience, implementing green building practices indeed requires more effort. However, by effectively using their own manufactured materials and considering the long-term environmental, economic, and social benefits, the notion that green buildings incur higher costs is not accurate.
Before the end of the press conference, all guests were invited to tour the entire office, take photos, and receive souvenirs from the organizers.
The event took place in a very open, friendly, and sociable atmosphere – consistent with the criteria Saint-Gobain set when deciding to invest in the Northern branch green office. The warm and hospitable reception from Saint-Gobain staff and the professionalism in organizing the event contributed to the success of the press conference.
Surely, every guest who attended could feel the “beauty and spirit” of the office, and more importantly, the dedication of all units that contributed to creating a truly green office. A green office placed within a green building, embodying the harmony of “green within green.”
